Flooring deserves better software. We're making that happen.
Grout originates from a four-generation
flooring family in Dayton, Ohio.

A radical evolution
We don't believe powerful flooring software should feel like it was built in a different era or require months to get started. We're wrapping heavy flooring logic into a fast, elegant interface that anyone on your team can use.
The path leading to Grout
I'm a flooring guy and a software developer. My family has run A-1 Carpet & Tile in Dayton, Ohio since 1955.
I started out working in the warehouse where I measured and staged carpet remnants, unloaded trucks, and occasionally made deliveries. Eventually I started measuring jobs, writing estimates, and working with customers.
Six years ago, I got into software development and decided I was going to get really good at it. I worked at the carpet store by day and coded late nights and early mornings, logging thousands of hours preparing for what was to come.
Along the way, I noticed a gap: the software this industry runs on hasn't meaningfully improved in decades. That's where Grout comes in. It sits right at the intersection of my family's legacy and a craft I’ve spent years mastering, for an industry that is long overdue for something that is not only better, but different.
The case for
better software
We believe the flooring industry has been ignored by big tech for nearly two decades. We're drawing a line in the sand.
