Grout Inc. ("Grout," "we," "us," or "our") operates grout.co and the Grout platform (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights with respect to it. It covers both our marketing site and the Grout application used by our customers ("Organizations") and their teams.
When you're invited to or create a Grout account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash, not in plain text). We also store your organization membership, role, and activity within the Service.
Organizations use Grout to manage their own business operations. In doing so, they may submit data such as:
We refer to this as "Customer Data." Organizations control what Customer Data is submitted to Grout, and we process it on their behalf to provide the Service — we do not use it for our own marketing purposes or sell it to third parties. If you're an individual whose information was submitted by an Organization using Grout (for example, a homeowner working with a flooring company that uses our software), your relationship for privacy purposes is with that Organization, and requests to access or delete your information should generally start there.
To help Organizations populate property details, we use a third-party data provider (RentCast) to retrieve publicly available property records, such as estimated value, square footage, and sale history, based on addresses entered into the Service.
When you submit a form on our marketing site, we may collect your company name, your name, work email address, phone number, current software you use to manage your business, team size, and message or inquiry.
When you visit grout.co, we may automatically collect basic usage data such as your IP address, browser type, referring URLs, and pages visited, used for site improvement and troubleshooting.
We use the information we collect to:

We share information with service providers who help us operate the Service, strictly to fulfill the purposes described above. These currently include:
These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations and may only use data to provide their service to us. As we introduce billing, we expect to add a payments processor (such as Stripe) to this list and will update this policy accordingly.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Grout or others.
We retain account and Customer Data for as long as the associated account or organization remains active, or as needed to provide the Service, and delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period after an account is closed, except where we're required to retain it longer by law. Contact form and waitlist data is retained as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry or as long as you remain subscribed. To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@grout.co. If your information was submitted to Grout by an Organization you're a customer of, we may direct your request to that Organization, who controls the data.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse, including encrypting passwords and restricting access to Customer Data to authorized organization members. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of our site or the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
